History
Project CARE (Chemical Abuse Reduction by Education) was started in November 1985, in Quakertown, PA. It was initially a response to a series of alarming teen suicides in the Upper Bucks area that occurred in recent years. An affilliate of the Lifequest foundation and Quakertown Community Hospital, Project Care followed a simple mission: to help raise healthy responsible youth and reduce substance abuse by providing education and training to those who worked for youth. A lot has changed in over 22 years since the beginning. However, you can still see just what Project CARE was like in those days through the articles below showing the media coverage we received in the early years.
