Student assistance programs go to college!

College officials across the country are recognizing the benefits of campus-wide student assistance programs (SAPs). These prevention/intervention programs consist of comprehensive services designed to:

  • Assist educational organizations in addressing behavioral/performance issue, and
  • Assist students in identifying and resolving personal concerns, including but not limited to alcohol and other drugs, family, emotional, stress other personal issues that may affect academic performance and behavior.1

Colleges/universities who are successfully implementing SAP have targeted specific groups, including:

  • Student athletes
  • Transfer students
  • In-coming freshman
  • Other young adults at-risk

Project CARE staff will work with your institution of higher learning to plan and develop a comprehensive program of student assistance services tailored to your unique needs. Using models proven successful in secondary schools (SAP) and worker (employee assistance programs) settings, we’ll help you to establish campus-wide SAP services that can decrease student attrition and promote a safe and drug-free campus that supports student achievement and success.
